The Gradient Folio team ("us," "we," or "our") operates the gradientfolios.com website (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service.

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1Information Collection and Use

We collect several types of information for the sole purpose of providing our Service to you.

Personal Data:

  • LinkedIn URL: We collect your public LinkedIn profile URL to access the content needed to build your portfolio.
  • Email Address: We collect your email address during checkout to process your payment, deliver your final portfolio link, and communicate with you.
  • Venmo Username (Optional): We collect your Venmo username only if you participate in our referral program and are owed a cash payout.
  • Payment Data: All payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not collect or store your credit card information. We only receive confirmation of your payment.

2How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

  • Provide the Service (i.e., build your portfolio).
  • Process your payment.
  • Communicate with you regarding your order.
  • Deliver your final portfolio link.
  • Fulfill our referral program obligations (i.e., pay you via Venmo).

3Data Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data.

We only share it in the following limited circumstances:

  • Third-Party AI Services: We will submit the text content from your LinkedIn profile to third-party AI services to generate enhanced descriptions. Your data is used for the generation request and is not used to train their models.
  • Payment Processors: We share transaction data with our payment processors to facilitate your purchase.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required by law or in response to a valid request by public authorities.

4Data Security

The security of your data is important to us. We use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

5Your Data Rights (California Residents)

As we are based in California, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

Right to Know:

You have the right to request what personal information we have collected and how it has been used.

Right to Delete:

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information.

As this is a short-term student project, all personal data associated with this E-Challenge (including LinkedIn URLs and Venmo usernames) will be securely deleted from our systems within 30 days of the project's conclusion (approx. December 6, 2025). Your hosted portfolio website will remain live for the 1-year period you paid for.

6Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
